Obol, however, allows the duties of a validator to be performed across a cluster or network of nodes, providing fault tolerance (if one or more nodes in a cluster goes down, the cluster itself can still attest) and reducing the risk of slashing events due to double signing (in cases where operators are running a private key on a backup machine for redundancy).
